Your data
Here is how to get a copy of what Flying M Studio holds about you. Here is also how to have it removed. There is nothing to print and nobody to call. You do not have to give a reason.
Get a copy
You get one file with everything in it. Any computer can open it. Here is what is inside:
- Your account: your email, name, phone and part of town. Also the day you joined and the last day you signed in.
- Which emails you said yes to, and when you said it.
- Everything you have sent us through a form.
- Which devices are signed in right now.
- A list of the emails we have sent you.
Have it removed
You can ask us to remove your information any time. We will not ask why. Here is exactly what happens. That includes the parts that do not go away at once, because you should know that first.
Right away
- Your account stops working. We hide it.
- We take you off every email list. We send you nothing more.
- Every device that was signed in gets signed out.
- If you had a password, we destroy it.
Within 30 days
- We erase your email, name, phone and part of town. What is left is a record with no person in it.
Things you posted keep the words but lose your name
Maybe you wrote something that other people can see. A note, or a comment, or a post in some future message board. We do not delete what you wrote. We take your name off it. From then on it says Anonymous. Nothing ties it back to you.
We do it this way for a reason. Deleting the words would leave holes in talks that other people joined in on. And the part that points to you is your name, not the sentence.
Recent business waits its turn
This part is worth reading twice. Have you done any business with Flying M Studio in the last 90 days? If so, we do not remove that record when you ask. It goes when its own 90 days are up, and not before.
Two things to know about that wait:
- The clock starts the day the business was done. That means we finished helping you. The clock does not start the day it began. If it did, we would lose track of something still out.
- Is something still open? A job we are still working on. Then we keep your name until it is sorted out. The clock starts after that.
What we keep on purpose, and why
- A note that you said yes or no to emails. We keep it, but we swap your email for a jumble of letters. Nobody can read an email address out of it. It shows you gave us permission. It also keeps anyone from adding you back by mistake.
- Our do-not-email list. Same reason. That list is what protects you from being added back, so it outlives the account. Your email sits in it as a jumble too.
- Our safety records, for 3 years. We scrub your details out of them.
- Last night’s copies. We copy everything each night. Copies made before you asked stick around for 14 days. We keep one locked copy somewhere else until we next swap it out.
Sign in to delete my information
Would you rather just ask a person?
You do not have to use any of the buttons above. Email info@flyingmstudio.com and say what you want removed. We will do it and write back. The rules are the same either way. The buttons are only faster.
If you only want the emails to stop
Then you do not need to delete anything. Use the stop link at the bottom of any email we sent you. It works even if you are not signed in. Or turn off single lists from your account. You keep your account, and you keep anything you signed up to help with.
